Desi se crede, de obicei, ca este o reteta ucraineana, puiul Kiev a fost inventat de un francez si si-a primit numele in SUA. Cu toata aceasta incurcatura etnica, reteta este foarte simpla, iar rezultatul final arata destul de spectaculos. Se pot prepara si diferite variante, schimband patrunjelul cu cimbru, rozmarin sau salvie, de exemplu.
